ANNUAL TCM REVIEW 2019: Julie Voets, credit controller

ANNUAL TCM REVIEW 2019

Julie Voets: credit controller

Julie Kerst 1

The end of the year is approaching, time for some (self-)reflection! During this festive period we ask our TCM colleagues to take a look back at their personal TCM highlights of 2019. Today it is Julie’s turn, our credit controller. Julie, what will you mainly remember about the past TCM year?

  • After having worked for seven years at Makro in various positions, September 2019 heralded the start of a new career path at TCM Belgium. I had to start over as a rookie, but fortunately Tiffany  joined the company a couple of months later as well. It’s more fun to be with two strange ducks in the TCM pond! We also learn a lot from each other’s questions. I think I did well to introduce the game ofCards Against Humanityduring the lunchtime breaks. Bizarre sentence structures work perfectly to glue the newly formed team together! #carreerswitch

  • TCM Belgium is an SME. It takes some getting used to, but I soon noticed the advantages. No more meetings on the floor between the customers,  and no more taking an hour off to greet all 200 employees in the morning and go over the day (for real!). I also don’t have to get out of bed at 3.30am to open the shop, pfieuw! So a lot of changes in my daily pattern over the past year. New proposals can also be put into practice more quickly, which gives quicker satisfaction. Unfortunately, I no longer spontaneously get to my 10,000 steps a day… . A new challenge to motivate both myself and my TCM colleagues to move! Maybe a resolution for 2020? #changeforthebetter

 Thank you, Julie!
