The debt and the <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/receivable\/\">receivable<\/a> (or claim) refer to the same obligation, but then seen either from the creditor\u2019s or the debtor\u2019s perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Debt collection companies<\/strong> deal with <strong>certain<\/strong>, <strong>liquid<\/strong>, and<strong> matured debts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Certain<\/strong>: the founding principle of the obligation is established or seems established.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Liquid<\/strong>: the <strong>debt<\/strong> claim is liquid when its amount is determined (sum of money) or can be determined (which can be assessed in cash).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Matured<\/strong>: the <strong>debt<\/strong> is definitively due (on or past its due date) and no longer depends on the performance of any condition (such as a <strong>creditor<\/strong> consideration).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\n\nUpdated 27\/11\/2017<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitions provided under this section refer to the Belgian situation; unless specified otherwise.
