The purpose of <strong>compulsory execution<\/strong> is to enforce a contractual commitment or a court decision.<br><br>Several execution paths, which vary depending on the type of sentence, are available to the <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/creditor-definition\/\">creditor<\/a>. In the event of <strong>outstanding debt<\/strong> , i.e. for monetary sentences, the <strong>creditor<\/strong> may call on a <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/bailiff\/\">bailiff<\/a> to proceed with seizure and sale of the <strong>debtor\u2019s <\/strong>property (movable and immovable, tangible or intangible): car, house, salary, income, etc.<br><br>Updated 02\/01\/2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitions provided under this section refer to the Belgian situation; unless specified otherwise.
