{"id":69225,"date":"2018-02-13T12:45:14","date_gmt":"2018-02-13T11:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tcm.be\/glossarium\/salary-assignment\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T23:20:31","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T22:20:31","slug":"salary-assignment","status":"publish","type":"glossarium","link":"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/glossarium-en\/salary-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Salary assignment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A <strong>salary assignment<\/strong> arises out of an agreement between an <strong>employee<\/strong> (assigning <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/debtor-definition\/\">debtor<\/a> ) and a <strong>third party<\/strong> (assignee <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/creditor-definition\/\">creditor<\/a> ) who agree that the latter will acquire ownership of the assignable part of the compensation that the <strong>employer<\/strong> (the assigned) owes to their employee.<br><br>This agreement is an applied example of an <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/assignment-of-debt-claim\/\">assignment of debt claim<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitions provided under this section refer to the Belgian situation; unless specified otherwise.
