For TCM Belgium and the other partners within the network, these <a href=\"https:\/\/tcm.be\/en\/meeting-international-debt-collection-network-tcm-group\/\">international gatherings<\/a> are the perfect opportunity to meet local colleagues in person, discuss cases, and exchange experiences. Behind every case are not only figures and facts, but also context, culture, and people. And that is precisely what makes the difference in international debt collection management.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From Student Employee to International Collection Manager<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Helena is a familiar face within the TCM Group.<\/strong> She has been working in the debt collection industry since the age of sixteen, initially alongside her studies and later as a full-time professional. Today, she manages the international collection department at <strong>TCM Sweden<\/strong>, a well-established member of the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in <strong>1983<\/strong>, TCM Sweden joined the <strong>TCM Group<\/strong> in the 1990s. While in Belgium, a B2B invoice must generally be disputed within a reasonable period, typically before its due date, the situation in Sweden is different: invoices can be disputed <strong>up until a court judgment has been issued<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This creates a level of flexibility on the one hand, but also a degree of uncertainty for creditors on the other. Fortunately, the <strong>strong cultural expectation that debts should be paid<\/strong> means that many cases in Sweden are resolved amicably, an advantage that Helena specifically highlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kronofogden: A Faster Route to Legal Enforcement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is very similar to the situation in Belgium?<\/strong> Sweden also has its own <strong>expedited legal recovery procedure<\/strong>: the <strong>Kronofogden<\/strong>, which is comparable to the Belgian IOS procedure or the French <em>Injonction de Payer<\/em> (IP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This procedure enables creditors to obtain an enforceable title for undisputed claims quickly and at relatively low cost. If the claim is disputed, however, the case is transferred to the ordinary court system and proceeds through traditional legal proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-9-16 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Interview TCM Sweden (2)\" width=\"422\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jC-91HqfHQc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Innovation and Regulation: AI &amp; the NPL Directive<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like other European TCM partners, <strong>TCM Sweden is preparing for the implementation of the European NPL (Non-Performing Loans) Directive<\/strong>, which introduces new rules governing the recovery of non-performing credit agreements.
