Warning: another phishing mail in the name of TCM Belgium!

A NEW phishing emailwas sent out on Wednesday 11/10/2023 in the name of TCM Belgium, and these emails are still being sent out to this day.

How do you recognise an email sent out from TCM Belgium?

• The mail address always ends in @tcm.be!The e-mail address used (officer@ipadoffice.net) is not a mail address linked to TCM Belgium. Furthermore, this e-mail is sent by a certain ‘Johan Steen’, and also received by ‘Johan Steen’.

• TCM Belgium is a recognised debt collection agency, but not a bailiff’s office or (as mentioned in this mail) an ‘handhavingsfunctionaris’.We do not seize or instruct the police to carry out an intervention. Besides,seizures by bailiffs may only be carried out after obtaining an enforceable title.We stand for the amicable route, an opportunity for both parties to reach the most expedient solution away from the courts.

• Our signature containsstandard a contact number.

• When we write to you by e-mail, you can finda copy of our reminderattached with all the information about the debt and payment details to pay the debt. Any info about the debt is missing in this phishing mail.

• We are indeed solidly based in Tienen, we are a Belgian company with a Belgian company number (BE 0451 082 959).

So be alert when you receive this kind of mail, and do not proceed to pay immediately. It is always advisable not to simply pay an invoice if you do not know the creditor or are unaware of an outstanding debt.
