ANNUAL TCM REVIEW 2019

Iris Borgenon: Visitor & Sales Assistant

IB kerstmis 1

The end of the year is approaching, time for some (self-)reflection! During this festive period we ask our TCM colleagues to take a look back at their personal TCM highlights of 2019. Today it is Iris’s turn, our visitor & sales assistant. Iris, what will you mainly remember about the past TCM year?

  • A few years ago I was already working for TCM Belgium as a visitor, but I was still young and curious about other opportunities. TCM and I found each other again in March 2019. I work part-time as a visitor, and support our sales manager Sven Dereze as sales officer the rest of the time. So I connect with the reality of both debtors and creditors. I find that combination extremely diverse, and the ideal cross-pollination between external ‘fieldwork’ and an internal office function. I think it’s rather rare that people find each other professionally for a second time, that must mean something! #dualwork

  • As a visitor I come into contact with various people and situations. A high dose of human knowledge and empathy is often needed to quickly sense all these contexts and to obtain the most feasible solution for all parties in a short period of time. Debtors logically don’t like to be made aware of their financial difficulties (who does?), and I feel very much appreciated when they notice and appreciate my human approach through these financial worries. Especially this passed year I noticed that it is apparently not a self-evident approach, and that TCM Belgium distinguishes itself via this empathic method. It touches me that we can still have a positive impact on these people’s lives. # sustainablework

 Thanks, Iris!
