Testimony: De Vocht recovers its debts with TCM!
TCM helps De Vocht with credit control

In the recycling sector, like any other, it is not a pleasant task for the financial department to keep chasing after clients over unpaidinvoices.De Vocht, recently taken over by the GermanRemondis, was stuck with this problem as well. Their unified efforts withTCM, also a partner of Go4Circle, ensure that the headache at De Vocht over this delicate matter is a thing of the past.
What does De Vocht do exactly?
“We collect, sort and process waste from companies, public institutions and individuals. We have 13 of our own trucks that collect construction, garden and ship-generated waste from our clients mainly located in Antwerp, Flemish Brabant and the Brussels-Capital Region. Clients can also bring us their waste. After processing it at our premises, the waste is sold as unmixed, high quality secondary raw materials. We also rent out containers in the most diverse formats (from 240 to 40,000 litres). Our quick service is extremely important, especially in the construction sector: a contractor suddenly stuck on a worksite with a full container needs a solution within the hour. Halfway through 2017, our business was taken over by Remondis, an established family business with 80 years of experience. Today we continue to offer commercial and industrial clients high quality alternatives for environmentally friendly waste processing”, explains Jan De Vocht.
How do you handle credit control?
“We send 3000invoicesout on a monthly basis. About 5% of them remainunpaid, although we have clear contractual terms and claiminterest on late payments. In principle, every client must pay in advance, but unfortunately sometimes someone slips through the net. Nevertheless, our bookkeeper follows up everything closely, withremindersandphone calls, among other methods. Previously, we worked with bailiffs to settle everything amicably. However, we noticed that abailiffdoes not really strive for anamicable solution. Moreover, I was shocked at the invoice I would receive from the bailiff. That is why we went in search of another solution and foundTCM.”
“TCM visits the clients at their place of business and plays a particular mediating role, avoiding heavy legal costs for our clients and us.”
What advantages does the new approach offer?
“TCMvisits the clients at their place of business and plays a particular mediating role, avoiding heavy legal costs for our clients and us. They offer a central point of contact for all our cases. Should anunpaid invoicesometimes slip through the cracks, they finalise it for us. I also appreciate the transparent cost structure, and I am never caught off guard like I was with the bailiff. At TCM, we steer our credit control: no costs are generated without our approval. Moreover, I can stay informed of my cases through various channels.”
How important is the partnership between TCM and Go4Circle?
“Thanks to this partnership that started on 1 September 2017 members of the circular economy business federation receive an advantageous rate for collecting domestic and foreign invoices. They furthermore put their expertise at the disposal of members by way of information sessions, among others.TCMworks according to the ‘‘no cure, no fee’’ principle, which started with the Go4Circle partnership. This is how they became the ideal partner, even for thesmallest invoices.”
